James Davis' Obituary
JAMES EDMOND DAVIS, 81, of Huntersville, NC was born on November 9, 1944 in Charlotte, North Carolina and went to be with the Lord on Friday morning, December 19, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family in his home. Jim was born to the late Earl and Julia Davis. He is predeceased in death by his brother Robert “Bob” Davis. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Keith Davis, his three loving Children, Deborah Curtis (Boyce) of Huntersville, Brent Davis (Shana) of Huntersville, Christopher Davis (Amber) of Denver, eight grandchildren - Heather Curtis, Hunter Curtis, Colby Davis, Blake Davis, Grant Davis, Marlee Bortree, Jackson Davis and Julia Davis, and one great-grandchild - Chloe Martin.
Jim grew up as a boy in Wadesboro, NC. He had fond memories of his childhood and told great stories about his time there with family. The family later moved back to Charlotte. Jim graduated from Myers Park High School. He joined the Navy and served four years. On November 1, 1969 he married the love of his life, Hazel Keith, and remained her loving husband for 56 years. Jim passed away from dementia but he knew Hazel until the very end and would ask for her during the brief times she left his side.
He was a member of Asbury Chapel Global Methodist Church in Huntersville where he served on various committees through the years and sang with the choir.
He attended CPCC where he obtained an engineering degree and later attended UNCC. He worked for Southern Bell Telephone/AT&T for almost 30 years. After his retirement from the telephone company he worked in sales for ADC and Optellian before his final retirement.
Jim loved life and he loved people. He was the best friend anyone could ever ask for and an even better husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to the family he cherished so much. He loved to gather with family and friends where there was always lots of laughter and great food. Often these gatherings would take place on Lake Norman or at the beach. He loved both places and enjoyed swimming, boating and fishing. He was a charter member of the Jubilee Fishing and Eating Club. He and his friends in the JFEC took yearly trips to the Outer Banks where many tales of catching monster size fish were exchanged. He loved to play many different sports and was first in line to purchase Charlotte Hornets and Carolina Panthers season tickets. Golf became his favorite sport later in life. He was a music lover and enjoyed all different types of music.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23 at Asbury Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 1:00 -2:00p.m.in the church sanctuary.
