I met Jim 15 years ago at Big Ben's English Pub for a dinner arranged by Brian Lawing. I sat next to him and he began talking to me like he'd known me his whole life. Cracking jokes and teaching me Cockney phrases. It was his birthday that day. At one point in the night, he asked me to get up and sing with the live band that was playing at the pub. I was hesitant, but I ended up going up there and asking the band if I could sing with them. I ended up singing Boulevard of Broken Dreams by Green Day with them. Jim had the biggest smile on his face. When he found out I played violin, he became one of my biggest fans. To honor him, I will be playing a rendition of Boulevard of Broken Dreams at his memorial service on the 13th. It was the only way I felt I could show how much he impacted my life. I will always consider him and the rest of the Hannibals family.
