James Haynes Reeves' Obituary
Mr. James Haynes Reeves II, 74, of Huntersville, NC, formerly of Anniston died January 26. Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 31, 2014 at Forestlawn Gardens with Dr. Roland P. Brown officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2014 at K.L. Brown Memory Chapel in Golden Springs.
Mr. Reeves passed away Sunday, January 26, 2014. Jim was born on June 12, 1939 to the late Colonel James H. Reeves Jr. and Carol Sims Reeves. As the oldest son of a military family, Jim lived in many places during his childhood including Bogota, Columbia, Virginia and Carlisle, Pennsylvania, where he graduated from high school. He graduated from Georgia Tech University in 1961 and continued to follow his school's teams for the remainder of his life. He was an avid Tech fan and enjoyed cheering for Tech football for many years.
Jim married Vivian Butler Reeves in 1963. Vivian preceded him in death in 2007.
Jim is survived by three children, James H Reeves IV and his wife, Stacey, of Charlotte, NC, Tina Reeves Swords and her husband, Ed, of Winston Salem, NC and Vicki Reeves Willis of Colona, IL; four grandchildren, Tyler Willis, Maria and Molly Swords and Katie Reeves.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the doctors and staff at Olde Knox Commons for the loving care given to Jim in his last months. The family is also grateful for the support of Hospice and Palliative Care of Lake Norman.
