James Joseph Samarco,'s Obituary
Mr. James (Jim) Joseph Samarco Jr., of Huntersville, N.C., went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, September 06, 2017 at the age of 73.
Jim was born to parents, James and Claire Samarco, on June 18, 1944 in Philadelphia, PA. He has 3 sisters, Anne, Martha, and Lisa. He moved to Florida in his youth where he later gave his life to Christ. He was immersed in the Christian faith and that would be his life long passion.
In 1979, he married the love of his life and best friend, Debra (Debbie) Samarco. They moved to North Carolina where they had 3 beautiful children. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him in his life and gave him peace.
He loved to paint, to fiddle around the house, and Panthers football.
Jim is survived by his wife, Debbie; their sons, Christian and Josiah Samarco; their daughter, Joanna Harris, and his daughter, Wednesday Kundrat; 7 grandchildren, Lacey Hargett, Izic Harris, Luke Harris, Sakari Harris, Lilly Samarco, Jameson Samarco and Della Erwin. He is preceded in death by his parents; James and Claire; his sister, Lisa Samarco.
He is dearly missed by his loved ones, who celebrate the fact that he is at home with his Creator.
A celebration of life will be held at Metrolina Church on Sunday September 10th directly following church services at 12:30. Friends and family are invited to attend church at 10:30, the memorial after, and a reception at the home of his beloved daughter and son in law, Joanna and Tate Harris. The family is grateful for the condolences, but asks that any donations be made to Hope Water Project or Harvesters International, in lieu of flowers.
