James "Jimmy" Stanley Golightly II's Obituary
James (Jimmy) Stanley Golightly II of Cornelius, NC passed away Tuesday May 13, 2025.
Originally from Jacksonville, Florida born on April 6, 1967, Jimmy moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to attend UNC Charlotte School of Architecture. He graduated in 1993 and applied his talents as an architect for 31 years. 29 of those years he spent working his way up to Senior Principal of Boomerang Design. Jimmy was a gifted writer, artist, and musician mastering numerous instruments and genres. He became a published author in 2022 with his first book, Old Sins Cast Long Shadows: A Ghostly Tale. In his free time, Jimmy enjoyed watching Harry Potter, paranormal movies, and learning about astrophysics and Einstein.
James is survived by his wife Kelly Golightly, his children Caroline Golightly and Jack Golightly, Step-son Hunter Bloom, Sister-in-law Jonelle Lang, siblings Kathy (Dan) Minton, Joyce (Mickey) Burt, Bonnie Golightly and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Jack Golightly and Mother Martha Golightly.
Burial will take place at Dust to Dust Green Burial Nature Preserve and Cemetery where loved ones can visit. Ceremony will be held on June 7, 2025 at 12:00 PM.
