James Knight's Obituary
James Henry “Jim” Knight, 82, of Stanley, NC died September 22, 2018 at his home. He was born on February 13, 1936 in Union County to the late William and Betty Knight. Jim served with the Charlotte Fire Department for 15 years, where he became a captain and fire inspector. He left the fire department to go into full time ministry. In later years Jim volunteered for the Biltmore Fire Department and Charlotte-Mecklenburg Firehouse Museum. Jim was a member of SouthLake Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Knight; son Jim Knight and wife Rhonda of Lawrenceville, GA and Jonathan Knight of the home; daughter, Jackie Knight-Kiser of the home; son-in-law, Harry Bizzell, III of Mooresville; siblings, Betty Jo Crisp of Lenoir, Linda Sue Russell of Hickory Grove and Pam Butler of Charlotte; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. His daughter, Voneda Bizzell, and his sister, Dorothy Thacker, preceded him in death.

The funeral service will be held at Wednesday, September 26 in the chapel of James Funeral Home at 12:00 PM. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn West.
