James Novak's Obituary
On April 18, 2021, James D. Novak, loving father of two daughters, passed away at age 78. Jim was born on July 12, 1942, in Burghill, Ohio to James and Vera (Zipay) Novak. He received his Industrial Technology degree from Ohio Northern University in 1964, followed by a Master's degree from Bowling Green University. He taught Industrial Arts and coached basketball for most of his career.
Basketball was his love and a major part of his life. For 25 years he had a 150 acre Black Angus farm in Newark, Ohio during which time he began his dream of driving a Sprint Racecar. His last years were spent in Davidson and Charlotte, NC as well as having a beautiful cabin in Blowing Rock. All of these homes fulfilled his life until dementia took over.
Jim is survived by his two daughters, Nicole Dina Novak (Harley Conrad) and Laureen Joan Sullivan (Cary); three grandsons, Carson and Connor Sullivan and Kennan Conrad; and great granddaughter, Copelyn Sullivan. He also leaves his younger brother, Ronald and his family and Joan Lee Novak, mother of his daughters.
The family will have a private service at a later date.
James Funeral Home, of Huntersville, is serving the family and obituary lovingly written by the family.
