James Payne's Obituary
James Carlen Payne, 86, the beloved father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, great great grand father and uncle entered into his eternal life on December 15, 2024.
Born May 30, 1938 to Ernest Payne and Bessie Clegg Payne. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Matthew Payne and Richard Law and sister Barbara Venscus. He is survived by his wife Magaly Payne of Dallas NC and his daughter Sandra Bates and son in-law Thomas Bates of Huntersville. Granddaughter Jennifer Sides of Kannapolis. Six great grand children Cody, Haley, Kaitlyn, Chloe, Hannah and Emma and one great great grandchild Camden.
Many will remember all the fun times with Jim as he was an avid fisherman and guitarist. Also enjoyed lots of cookouts, boat rides, and swimming He could work on or fix and build anything. He was most happy always having some kind of project going on. He was loved and will be missed by all just sitting and talking with him of his family and adventures of the past. Jim will be remembered for working at Shasta Beverage as a plant manager and most recently, until he retired, maintenance specialist for Constar Plastics.
The family will receive friends at 12 p.m. Monday, January 6, 2024 with funeral services beginning at 1 p.m. at James Funeral Home. Committal services will follow at NorthLake Memorial Gardens.
