James Poindexter's Obituary
James Benjamin Poindexter, age 48, of Cornelius, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 23rd.
James was born in Surry County, NC on February 26th, 1974 to the Jerry & Lynn Clayton Poindexter. He graduated from East Wilkes High School, class of 1992. He attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte with a Bachelor of Business Administration in finance and management. In 2000, he married Amy, and they had 3 children, Abigail, Elana & Isaac. A successful manufacturer’s rep in the Charlotte, NC area with his own agency (Poindexter Sales), he merged his firm with Lumina Lighting Sales. Continuing under the name Lumina Sales LLC, Poindexter and his associates cover North and South Carolina.
James enjoyed life on the lake, golfing, family vacations, and his two dogs, Sadie and Molly. He loved being around people and had a contagious laugh you would never forget. He never met a stranger and had a smile that lit up a room. James was most proud of his 3 children and lived his life for the Lord and his family.
He is survived by his wife Amy; daughters, Abigail & Elana; and son, Isaac. He is also survived by his mother Lynn Poindexter of Hamptonville, sister Kimberly Caudle (Waylon), three nieces (Melanie, Willow, and Evelyn Caudle), many cousins, and in-laws.
James was preceded in death by his father Jerry Poindexter.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 29th, 2022 at 4 pm at Grace Covenant Church. The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 pm following the service. Burial will be private at Mt. Zion Community Cemetery
