I am so very sad to know that sweet Jane has left this world because she was such a warm, genuine and caring friend. And ALWAYS so positive! It's a great trait to have in this life but it's pretty rare. I met Jane and Bill through my mother, Meg, and the three of them were wonderful friends for many years before Bill and Meg died the same month, the same year. I stayed in touch with Jane because she was so much fun to spend time with, and I regret that we will never get to go hear some music together at the Blue Ridge Music Center on the Parkway as we had talked about. This morning when my daughter woke me up at 6 a.m. with a text about Jane's death, I didn't know if I would be able to fall back to sleep but I did, and I had the sweetest dream about Jane. She was driving with me around Durham, and then we had a conversation about something she had given me. It felt like her spirit had come to find me, just briefly, to say farewell and let me know that all is well. She will be so greatly missed by many.
