Jane Reed Smith, of Davidson, passed away September 2, 2021. She was 93 years old having been born in Beaver Falls Pennsylvania July 2, 1928. A long time resident of Cornelius, NC, she passed away peacefully at the Pines at Davids Read Obituary
Jane was such an inspiration for me for the many, many years she served in the North Mecklenburg Woman’s Club (Huntersville Woman’s Club). When asked for advise or help, she thought things through and made logical decisions. I lost touch with her in her later years but have no doubt, she kept those at the Pines on their toes. So sorry for your loss.
Jane Smith was a second mother to me. Even down to the point she had my parent’s permission to spank me if ai needed it, and on occasion I did. She was a wonderful mother and friend. You could tell she was genuinely interested in you and what you were doing and how you were doing. Jane was a very sweet woman who made a very positive impact on my life. I will never forget her.

Jane was such a wonderful neighbor and friend to my children and to me when we lived on "the island". She was genuinely interested in what they were learning in school, asking them to tell her all about it and listening attentively. Last week, I was going through photos and saw a sweet picture of her with Anna at one of Anna's elementary school drama performances. Thank you for sharing her with us! Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
