Janice Kostielney's Obituary
Janice Celestia Kostielney, 83 years old passed away peacefully in her home on April 15, 2023.
Janice was born in Franklin, Virginia to Alice and Erbie Guilliams. She moved to Myrtle beach in her early marriage as an Air Force wife, where she began her family. After she settled in the Charlotte area, she worked as a talented seamstress in several upscale suit shops, eventually opening a successful alterations shop in her home. She was a loving mother and then grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed hosting her grandchildren frequently when they were young, participating in all kinds of fun activities from egg dyeing to back yard campouts. In her spare time, she loved tending her gardens and then later indoor plants. Above all, she loved animals and had quite a vast number over the years from ducks and peacocks, to cats, dogs, and birds. Her African Grey parrot who speaks just like her will be keeping us laughing and remembering her for years to come. Outside of her beloved pets, she was a wonderful host and enjoyed cooking and getting together with her family, both here in the Charlotte area and her siblings in Virginia. Funny and kind, she will be remembered fondly in the hearts and minds of anyone who knew her.
Jan leaves her three sons, Tim (Karen) Ramsey, Jeff (Carol) Ramsey, and Mike (Suzi) Ramsey, five grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Bobby Guilliams, Sandra (Joe) Hollandsworth, Ken (Linda) Guilliams, Barry Guilliams, and June (Tim) Holt, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be private.
James Funeral Home of Huntersville is serving the family.
