Jason Lloyd Miller's Obituary
Jason Lloyd Miller, of Mt. Holly, loving son, father, and brother, passed away Saturday, August 22, 2020, as a result of a motor vehicle accident. His love of life, sense of humor, and infectious smile will be forever remembered. Jason had the ability to reach out to people when they were struggling in life and give them hope and encouragement as few others could. He loved God and welcomed the opportunity to share his faith.
Jason graduated from West Mecklenburg High School where he excelled in wrestling and soccer and was named Male Athlete of the Year. He graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Turfgrass Management and obtained a degree in Counseling from Liberty University. He was pursuing his Masters in Turfgrass Management from Penn State University.
He was happiest working with God’s creation as Grounds Manager at Queens University through Compass Group’s SSC Services for Education. He was previously employed as Superintendent at Highland Creek Golf Course and worked at numerous other golf courses in the area.
Jason is survived by the loves of his life, daughter Caitlyn and son Brentley. He is now reunited in Heaven with his daughter, Courtney and her mother, Ashley. Additional survivors include his parents, Lloyd and Barbara Miller; sister, Allison Spruill (Kevin), niece and nephew, Molly and Mason; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jason’s family will continue to love and care for Brentley alongside his mother, Elizabeth Salley, and her daughter, Alex.
We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and memories shared by friends to help us through these difficult times. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a private service is planned for Saturday, August 29, 2020, at 2 pm. It may be viewed live on both the James Funeral Home and Assurance United Methodist Church Facebook pages or viewed on either one at a later time. A celebration of Jason’s life will be held in the future when larger gatherings are allowed. Following the service he will be laid to rest at Northlake Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brentley Miller’s educational fund. Checks may be made out to SECU and mailed to:
