Jim Jeffers' Obituary
James (Jim) R. Jeffers, 87, of Charlotte, NC passed away Sunday, July 14, 2024..
Born in Bellaire, Ohio, Jim lived in Charlotte for more than 45 years. He was a proud veteran of the US Army having served stateside and in Germany. As a Freemason he was a member of the William Mckinley Blue Lodge and the Valley of Canton Scottish Rite. Jim was also a member of the Popular Tent Presbyterian Church.
Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid traveler. He had visited all 50 states and camped his way across the continental US and Canada many times. His favorite place to vacation was Alaska, followed closely by Arkansas, where he loved trout fishing. Jim made friends around campfires wherever he went.
Jim is survived by his children, Anita Nelsen of Chapel Hill, and James Jeffers II of Davie, Florida; and his grandchildren, Jacob, Courtney, Gavin and Emily. He was preceded in death by his parents, St. Clair James Jeffers and Bertha Gladys Jeffers of Canton, Ohio; and his beloved cats, J.C. and Thomas.
The family will receive friends for a time of visitation on Thursday, July 25, from 4:00 - 6:00 PM at James Funeral Home in Huntersville. The graveside service with Army funeral honors will be held on Friday, July 26, 10:00 AM at Salisbury National Cemetery in Salisbury, NC.
