Jim Laney's Obituary
James David Laney, 68, of Huntersville, passed away peacefully at his home Friday, June 8 with his wife, Dell, the love of his life, by his side. He was born August 20, 1949 in Monroe, NC. He was the son of James Eugene and Mildred Moore Laney.
Jim was a talented and skilled commercial building contractor. He and his wife owned and operated Laney Brothers Specialty Contracting and Safety Check Inspections. Jim was a witty and fun person. He enjoyed his sports car club, being outdoors, fishing, traveling, good food, good music and good times. But most of all, he loved his family and friends.
Jim was a US Army Veteran and a loyal member of the Derita Masonic Lodge # 715. His life was a testimony of living and loving each day that he was given to the fullest.
He is preceded in death by his parents ,three brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife Dell Pritchard Laney, and daughter Beverly Elizabeth Laney.
His life was blessed with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A service to celebrate his life will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, June 13, 2018. A reception will follow in the James Funeral Home Community Room. Rev. Bruce Brown will officiate.
