Joan Burkert's Obituary
Joan Burkert, 86 of Charlotte, died Sunday, October 26, 2025.
She was born on April 18, 1939, in Tangier, Indiana, to the late Walter and Violet Randoph. Joan lived a life marked by grace, devotion, and unwavering faith. In 1961, she married Donald Burkert, the love of her life. Together, they built a home grounded in service to others and a deep commitment to their church community. Joan’s love for Christ radiated through her words and actions. She was a faithful witness to the gospel, never missing an opportunity to share the hope she carried in her heart.
She was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 63 years, her parents, and several siblings.
Joan’s legacy lives on through her children: Donald Lee Burkert, Jr. (Marcia), John Burkert (Anna), Lori Hayden (John), and Michelle Barga (Jeff); her eight grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren, each a testament to her enduring love and faith.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 29 at James Funeral Home of Huntersville.
