I too was Joan's classmate at East High School and was sorry to hear of her passing. I pray that she didn't suffer and that this scourge of ovarian cancer soon be eradicated. May your memories of happy times sustain you in the days ahead.
So sorry for your loss. My sister, Mary Beth and I have such fond memories of Joan and Gus. We still talk about babysitting five kids for 50 cents an hour while Joan and Gus went to work at The Castaways. I remember Joan asking us to do the laundry and when we went downstairs there was this mountain of clothes, she would just go buy whatever she needed until she had time to wash. Those were fun times and good memories. Our prayers and deepest condolences to your family, take care of each other. God Bless!
So sorry to hear of your loss. May God's word bring strength and comfort. John 5:28,29.
I was so sorry to hear that joan had passed away, I was a high school friend of hers and we have been corresponding for some time now. I will never forget the sleepover we had at her parents home in Youngstown, Ohio. It was our YDKDY club. I will really miss her cards and phone calls. Love you Joan and you will always be in my prayers.
Dear family,
When I read the obituary, I was sad to hear that Joan died from ovarian cancer, but also remembered the days of my youth on Westview Ave. when all of the neighbor hood kids would roam and play after school and summer vacation. I lived at 7 Westview, what a great childhood. I am the same age as Cheryl and we played together with all the other neighborhood kids.
My Mother Beverly stayed in the house until 2014, seven years after my father passed. She loved the Hubbard community and the Rosile family that lived in Hubbard.
My mother was also diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2015 without any of the most common symptoms and of course was a shock to all of us. She passed in August of 2016 with her family around her also. I will continue to pray for prevention, early detection, and a cure for ovarian cancer.
My sincere sympathies to all of you.
