Joan Locke's Obituary
Joan Ford Locke, 93, of Ridgeway, SC, formerly of Mooresville, NC died July 13, 2025 at her home. She was born on April 13, 1932 in Conneaut, PA to the late Loy and Golda Ford.
She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Locke, daughters Cindy, Patty, and Vonnie.
Survivors include daughter Sandy (Jimmy) Winders, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
Joan grew up in Greenville, PA, graduated from Penn High School, and married Frank Locke in 1950. She was a stay-at-home mom and was fiercely devoted to her family. She was a member of Huntersville Methodist Church and sang in the choir for the glory of the Lord. She then worked for Charlotte Municipal Courthouse for a number of years until being diagnosed with MS forcing her retirement but managed to serve as volunteer at the local hospital for another eight years. She battled MS for 40 years never complaining and stayed independent for as long as she could. Later in life she moved to Lake Wateree SC to her daughter's home to be closer to her family and enjoyed lake living, board games, and her dogs.
A graveside will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, July 16 at Northlake Memorial Gardens with Rev. Al Burnham officiating.
Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross.
