Joe Snyder's Obituary
Joseph “Joe” Snyder, 95, of Charlotte, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, November 29, 2011 at University
Hospital. He was born on January 15, 1916 in Flint, MI.
He served in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Snyder proudly volunteered for the Calvary, 5th Infantry Division under General Patton, earning a purple heart, good conduct medal, bronze star and an honorable discharge. As a sergeant, he was responsible for leading and protecting many soldiers.
He retired from Kraft Food Services. Joe was a member of First Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Todd “Dot” Snyder; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many, many friends.
Memorials may be made to Boys and Girls Home of NC, P.O. Box 127, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450.
Burial will take place at Sunset Memory Gardens at 3:00 P.M. Thursday, December 1, 2011.
A memorial service will be held at 11 A.M. Friday, December 2, 2011 at Prosperity Presbyterian Church with Rev. Berry Stubbs and Rev. Steve Stout officiating. The family will receive friends at the church following the service.
