CHARLOTTE- John (Jake) William Blanchard passed away peacefully May 2, 2019 after a brief illness. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday, May 11 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel at Aldersgate (3800 Shamrock Drive Read Obituary
I saw Cousin Jake's obituary in the paper and was deeply saddened. Our common ancestor, Frederick Blanchard (1774-1853) is unquestionably one of my favorite ancestors. Married three times and fathering 15 children, his last wife was younger than his first several children. He fathered my great great grandmother when he was in his seventies.
When I was writing my genealogy book "The Descendants of William E. Faucett and Elizabeth Wallis" in the late 1990s, I corresponded with a large number of Jake's near relatives, including both his daughters, Kathryn and Maryjohn, as well as Carol DeNicola, Fred Faucette, David Faucette, Todd and Rachel McIntyre, and Norma Blanchard Faucette. I have fond memories of all of you.
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of Jake. Know that you are in my thoughts at this time.

We are saddened to hear about Mr. Blanchard's passing. He was a sweet and friendly man. Many Sundays we would tell him we were glad to see him and he would reply, "Well, it is good to be seen."
