John Cameron Binnie's Obituary
John Cameron Binnie, 73, of Huntersville, NC passed away at his home on Friday, August 21, 2015 surrounded by family and friends.
He was born on October 4, 1941 in Edinburgh, Scotland and was the son of the late John Marshal Cameron Binnie and Katherine Begg Maxwell Binnie. John attended the Edinburgh Academy which nurtured his love of rugby and graduated in Chemistry from the Herriot Watt University. He emigrated to the USA in 1967 working for ICI, which later became Hoechst-Celanese, for which he traveled extensively around the globe for 32 years. The last 20 years of his life he enjoyed his life long dream of running an Equestrian Farm with his wife Claudine.
He is survived by his wife, Claudine Binnie of Huntersville, NC; two sons, Cameron Binnie and wife Brittany of Waxhaw, NC, Vincent Woronin and wife Amanda of Colorado Springs, CO; two daughters, Courtaney Binnie-Smith of Waxhaw, NC; Uschi Woronin of Charlotte, NC; brother, Ron Binnie and wife Sue of Warwick, England; and one granddaughter, Sara “Summer” Smith of Waxhaw, NC.
A Memorial service will be held on October 4, 2015, at 4:00 PM at his farm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Red Cross (attention: transportation department).
