John Dalton Parker's Obituary
John Dalton Parker, 87, of Charlotte, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on February 27 at the Harris Hospice Unit. He was born on March 23, 1929 in Mecklenburg County to the late John and Lelia Parker. He retired from Southern Bell and was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Waller Parker and his second wife Ann Gaetano Parker.
Survivors include his sons, Joey (Marie), Johnny (Sarah), Kim (April); daughters, Diane Speight (Dick), Barbara Tarlton (Randy); sister, Naomi Fite (Lloyd); step-sons, Barry and Sonny Gaetano; 11 grandchildren, Joe, Mattie, Melanie, Rebecca, Molly, Harrison, Brandon, Lauren, Layna, Justin, Leighann and 6 great-grandchildren, Parker, Emily, Cooper, Garrett, Harper and Isla.
The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Thursday, March 2 at Pleasant Grove U.M.C. with burial following at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-3:00 prior at the church.
