I just heard that Mr. Davidson passed away. I knew him as a great educator and person. Both he and his wife. My thoughts and prayers are with Lynn and entire family.

My family lived around the corner from you on Radio Road in Statesville and I remember your family well. Your dad taught me geometry at SHS as well as Driver's Ed. Because I lived so close, I would walk over to your house early in the morning of the summer week we had driving. Your Dad would be on the radio communicating with other "Hams" around the world. Thank you for sharing how he became interested in this hobby. I have informed some of my SHS classmates of your Dad's death and they all spoke of how well respected he was as a teacher. He touched a lot of lives. My best to each of you. Ricky Duckwall
So many enjoyable conversations with John in our Old Goat meetings early in the morning. He was a technical mentor for me, only a ham since 1976, compared to his lifetime as a ham, often trading equipment and non-ham solutions to home projects. Carol and I were able to visit he and Geri in their comfortable home on Lake Norman.
We all enjoyed his great sense of humor, e.g. when he shared some old videos of him as a boy soldier!
John, you are in our prayers and our many fond memories.
Bill (KF4IE) and Carol O'Leksy
I feel fortunate to have known John and to have had the opportunity to benefit from his friendship, knowledge and sense of humor over the years. John and I talked via amateur radio almost every morning for many years. He was a fine person who loved his wife and family. John will live on in the memory of his friends. Emily and I extend our deepest sympathy to the family at this time of profound loss.

While I saw John in person but a few times over some 20 years, I spoke to him almost daily as part of the “Old Goats” on 3.975 MHz. I never met Geri, nor any his other family members, but his love for them all was evident as he shared their lives together with the group. He lived and loved life to the fullest. My deepest condolences to his family in this time of loss.
