John Pierce McGraw's Obituary
John “Johnny” Pierce McGraw, 65, of Huntersville, NC passed away on Friday, September 23, 2016 at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Huntersville after a long 7 year battle with cancer.
He was born on May 17, 1951 and was the son of R.P. “Pete” McGraw, Jr. and Barbara Earnhardt McGraw of Huntersville. He and his wife Marcia were owners of McGraw Inc. for 35 years in Charlotte, NC. He was a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School, class of 1969; served in the NC National Guard for 6 years; enjoyed collecting antique cars and tractors; loved his four legged companions, Thunder and Tickle; was a member of Huntersville ARP Church and the Mecklenburg Bull Shooters. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, son, brother, father and loved his many friends.
Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Marcia Roberts McGraw of Huntersville; son, J. Clint McGraw of Harrisburg; brother, Gerald McGraw of Huntesville; three grandchildren, Kyle, Jessie and Owen; and many aunts, uncle and cousins. He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Timothy Allen McGraw; grandparents Mr. & Mrs. R. P. McGraw, Sr. and Mr.& Mrs. John Franklin Earnhardt and a sister-in-law Joy E. McGraw.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2016, at 11:00 AM, at Huntersville ARP Church with Rev. Lee Shelnutt officiating. Burial will follow in church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday, September 26, 2016, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at James Funeral Home of Huntersville.
