To the Markham Family: I am so sorry to hear about John's death. I remember John as a great teammate on the Vegetables in San Francisco. We went on a rafting fishing trip on the Deschutes River, north of Bend to the Columbia River, back in the 1980s. I can't remember if John caught any fish, but I only caught the seat of my pants and vegetation behind me, since I was terrible at fly casting!
