Mr. Rhoades was by far my favorite teacher at Eastern Hancock High School. He taught me to have confidence in myself and not to be afraid to try something new. I remember with our speech class, he threw out the curriculum, because he felt we had accomplished his goals and we spent the rest of the year working on a play. I loved that! I carried what I learned from him into my adult life and have thought of him often through the years. I will always remember his great smile. My deepest sympathy to all of you.

Tammy and family... I am so very sorry to hear about the loss of your wonderful father. What an incredible man! Reading all about his accomplishments and many talents and his caring heart! He's certainly was a force for good in this harsh world! I know his memory will be a blessing! Your neighbor, Kim Fox
My heart aches with the family of Uncle jack! There are not enough words to express the sadness I feel and also how much he means to me! Uncle Jack was in my life for 75 years and he showed me so much love and tenderness! He played paper dolls with me when I was a young girl, played the piano for me and was a wonderful story teller for everyone he knew. He gave so many people joy and brought laughter wherever he went throughout his life! He and Aunt Margie raised four wonderful children who show much love and care to those around them. The children are gifted with many natural talents and abilities which they share with others. Uncle Jack and Aunt Margie as well as their children made our wedding very special. They will forever be in our hearts and have given us many great memories! We love you and pray God will give you comfort and peace! Uncle Jack and Aunt Margie helped my mother design my wedding dress and it was lovely! I miss him terribly!
Mr. Rhoades impacted my life in a major way. During some of my darkest times as a youth, he showed me a path to use the negative and use it positively through acting and drama. He gave me my first opportunity through drama class and then as part of some major productions at GCHS. From Sound of Music, Hello Dolly, Stage Door, and more, he helped me turn things positive and fanned the flame for my love of acting that have lead me to do commercials and used as extras in movies for Hollywood as well as over 30+ stage productions as a student and as an adult! Thank you Mr. Rhoades for you love and dedication to people and for the legacy and impact you have left of this world! Rest Easy!
