You can " Stand Down Fireman Tim Gregory " and RIP as you go 10-7!
I came to know Timmy in the 90's, through a relationship with my brother, the Rev. Ronnie W Parker. The Gregory family were very special to us in Maiden, thanks to the love of Reese and Vivian, and Lois. Timmy developed a special bond with my late brother Rick, a dedicated public servant who served in the Fire service over 30 years. Every time The Gregory's would come to visit, Rick would go and get The latest piece of equipment from Station 10, and take Timmy for ride. You cannot imagine the joy that Timmy and Rick shared in those rides. I can still see and hear Timmy patiently waiting saying "where Wick" over and over until that Big Red Rig pulled into the yard.
On the day of Ricks funeral, the members of the Maiden Volunteer Fire Dept made Timmy an honorary Fireman, complete with his own Uniform. He served with the entire membership as they served as honorary Pall Bearers and even rode shotgun from the church to the Cemetery, There was a massive turnout of fire, rescue, and tow trucks lining the route and Timmy was right in front in Engine 102, the engine that bears Rick's name today. It was a joyous site that sure made a mournful day more bearable.
My family sends our heartfelt love to Lois,Annie, and the entire family on 'tiat this time
I can hear Timmy in heaven right now tellling Rick; "let's go Willie, let er Ride.
