John Wally's Obituary
John "Doodle" Wally, 84, of Davidson, died January 24, 2025. He was born on October 15, 1940, in Iredell County to the late Joseph and Willia Wally. Also, preceded in death by his two brothers Cathy and Dick Wally.
Doodle was a member of Davidson United Methodist Church, and the Bill Height Sunday school class. He was a member of Williams Lodge 176, and he was a Davidson Fire Department volunteer.
John served in the Army, and Air National Guard. After retiring, he enjoyed working at Davidson College Athletics for 20 years.
Survivors include his wife, Mittie Wally. He is also survived by son Tim Wally and wife Julie of Davidson, his daughter Ellen Nell and husband Chris of Mooresville. Also, surviving are his four grandchildren: Tanner Wally and wife Kiersten, Casey Wally, Kody Neill, Peyton Neill, and one great grandchild on the way.
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to a charity of your choice in his name.
The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM Tuesday, January 28 at James Funeral Home. The funeral will be held at 2 PM Wednesday, January 29 at Davidson U.M.C. with burial following at Mimosa Cemetery.
