Johnathan Douglas Bellew's Obituary
Jonathan Douglas Bellew of Mooresville NC passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2024.
Douglas was born in Clarksville, Georgia but at the age of 13 his family moved to Huntersville, North Carolina due to his fathers declining health.
Doug is a member of the Liberty Baptist Church Mooresville, North Carolina. Doug is also an associate member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 321.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents and Rachel Bellew and sisters Martha Ruth Raper and Carolyn Halford. He was also preceded in death by a brother Alvin Bellew. He was also preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Hagler.
Doug is survived by his wife Vivian Coffey Bellew of 26 years, his children, Angie Bellew Burris and husband Tony of Coco, Fl., Jeffrey Bellew and wife Tammy of Kannapolis NC. Three stepchildren Susan, Mac and Jimmy Hastings and spouses. Grandchildren Page Burris, Heather Burris Kneuer, Austin Bellew, Caleb Bellew, Billy Pope. Great grandchildren Carson and Audrey Kneuer. He is survived by a brother Sydney Bellew and family of Monroe NC. Many loving nephews, nieces, cousins. Doug also had two loving pets a Beagle Shiloh and Cat Prissy (he also had two Pomeranians that preceded him in death).
Doug never met a stranger, he loved people and enjoyed life, he talked to you no matter who you were, he always had something good to say about people.
Psalms 23: “The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside still waters. He restoreth with my soul: for his name's sake.
Yea though I walk through the valley of shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."
The services will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Liberty Baptist Church in Mooresville. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 9:00-11:00 AM and the funeral will start at 11:00 AM. The interment will follow immediately at the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Liberty Baptist Church special thanks to via hospice for all the care they gave to Doug and family.
