Jonni Catlett's Obituary
Jonni Tucker Helms Catlett, 91, died November 5, 2019 at her home in Cornelius, North Carolina. She was born on November 4, 1928 in Union County to the late Clive and Pat Tucker.
A true "Steel Magnolia" raised in the South, she was known for her personal style and culinary talents. Jonni was a graduate of Fairview High School, 1945. She was the matriarch and glue of her family, whom she loved dearly.
In the southern tradition, Jonni loved to hear and tell a great story. She was both charming and witty and knew just how to make those around her feel special.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Warren Helms, and second husband, James Catlett, and daughter, Sharon Helms.
Survivors include her children: Cynthia Adams (Don) of Greensboro, NC; John Helms (Mary) of Hot Springs, AR; Kimberly Smith (Scott) of Fairview, NC; and Kevin Helms of Greensboro, NC. Grandchildren include Stephanie Sparks (Doug), Meredith Williams, Travis Helms, Kelly Landrum (Kyle), and Alexandria Smith, and great grandchildren Bailey Sparks, Kylie Sparks, Christopher Hamilton, Destiny Clarke ( Kyle) and Forrest Landrum.
Flowers may be sent in c/o James Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, November 9 at James Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Felts officiating. Also, Jonni LOVED the color yellow and adored cheetah prints. If inclined, please wear in her honor.
