Joseph Robert Carter's Obituary
Joseph Robert Carter, 39, of Rock Hill, South Carolina, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025. He was born in Mecklenburg County, NC on April 12, 1986, the son of Joseph Andrew Carter and Michelle Angel Mullis. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Lee Angel, and Royce and Hildagard Carter.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Deana Jenkins Carter; daughters, Ava Caroline Carter, Nora Catherine Carter; father and stepmother, Joseph and Annette Carter; mother and stepfather, Michelle and William "Billy" Mullis; father and mother-in-law, Ronnie Dean and Sandra Dianne "Sue" Jenkins; grandmother, Shirley Angel; stepbrother, William "Billy" Mullis; stepsisters, Lindsey Mullis, Jennifer Garcia; aunt, Brenda Angel Blevins; and cousin, Brandon Blevins.
Joseph was born to parents who dearly loved him. He was loved by everyone in the family, but he was particularly doted on by his grandparents and his Uncle Pete. He spent a lot of time at their homes, learning skills from his grandfathers and uncles, attending church services, being spoiled with love by his grandmothers and aunts and playing and bonding with his cousins. Later, when he gained step parents, he received even more love, and with them, came new siblings. He and his brother Billy played, got into trouble together and had a blast, while both Lindsey and Jennifer were his cool and sweet older sisters.
Later, he met and married Deana and they had a wonderful life together, with their two daughters, Ava and Nora. There was a lot of love and laughter in their home for many years. Joseph was a great husband and father and they had happy times as a family and with extended family and friends. Joseph was a mechanic by trade, but he loved hunting and spending time in the woods when he wasn't with his family. He also loved to cook, and no five star restaurant could beat his steak dinner. His favorite thing of all was entertaining and making people laugh, and he was loved by so, so many. He will be greatly missed and always remembered.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, 12:00pm, at James Funeral Home of Huntersville. The family will receive friends from 11:00am - 12:00pm prior to the service. Interment will be held at Hillcrest Gardens, Mount Holly, immediately following the services.
