Joseph Ferrugia's Obituary
Joseph Angelo Ferrugia was born April 27, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Angelo and Maureen S. Ferrugia.
Joseph received his formal education in Brooklyn. After high school he attended, studied, and graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburg, PA. Immediately after graduation, Joe started his career and worked for several companies in California and Florida.
In the mid 2000’s, Joe decided to make North Carolina his home and moved to Huntersville, NC. Joe was employed with Bank of America as Senior Vice President. After his retirement, he continued to help the bank out parttime with contract work.
After the passing of his father, Joe used wisdom and moved his mother from New Jersey to live with him until her demise in July 2017.
Joe loved life and traveling was his heart’s desire. He enjoyed visiting different countries and enjoyed living in the newness and fullness of life. His most favorite vacation spot was Disney World, Orlando Florida. After the death of both parents, Joe visited Disney to remind him of the childhood memories that he and his parents spent there. He became a kid again, always wanting to ride all the rides.
To his parents, Joe was dependable, strong-willed, supporting, and caring. Joe was a great provider and always wanted the best for his mother. He was a humble and loving person, whom everyone loved and enjoyed his straight forwardness and honesty of genuine love. He had a heart of pure gold for mankind.
He leaves a legacy of memories to his friends, Mr. Antron M. Hayes of Magnolia, NC and Mrs. Jamie Kissel (Rick) of Fort Mill, SC.
We thank God for sharing Joseph Ferrugia with us. He has touched our lives in so many ways. Words cannot describe the loss that we feel, but we realize that God never makes a mistake and we humbly submit to His will.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Power Packed Leadership Organization, Inc. for scholarships to college students. Joe was a dedicated board member and supporter of this organization.
