To family:
We were so looking forward to meeting Sean's great Uncle Joe. What a beautiful smile in this picture. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you celebrate his life.
These times are so hard and yet we can be sure that love is stronger than death. Joe lives on in the smiles of the family, in the love of culinary celebration, in traditions passed down and what will continue to be shared - his influence, his love and passion.
Here is a poem that has brought me comfort in the passing of those near and dear: It is by John O'Donohue who also passed too soon from this life...
When you loose someone you love
Your life becomes strange
The ground beneath you becomes fragile
Your heart has grown heavy with loss
There are days when you wake up happy
Again, inside the fullness of life
Until a moment breaks
And you are thrown back on to the black tide of loss
And when the work of grief is done
The wound of loss will heal
And you will have learned
To wean your eyes
From that gap in the air
And be able to enter that half in your soul
Where your loved one
Has awaited your return all the time.

God of mercy,
Hear our prayers and be merciful to your son Joseph
whom you have called from this life.
Welcome him into the company of your saints,
in the kingdom of light and peace.
We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen
Peace and grace,
Comfort and love,
Betsy and John (J) Sentigar
