Joyce Mildred (Brack) Hankins' Obituary
Joyce Mildred (Brack) Hankins, known affectionately as grandma to all, passed away at her home in Huntersville, NC. On May 15, 2026 at the age of 92. She was surrounded by her loving family.
Born May 27th, 1933 in Baltimore Md. Joyce spent most of her adult working life as a bank manager and then after moving to NC to be next to her two sons , pursued part time work in real estate. Her real passion was her family and she was always there to lift the spirits of anyone who needed it. Her zest for life was always evident and as the matriarch of the family , she will be deeply missed.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband James (Pete) Hankins to whom she was happily married for 68 years. Also preceded by three siblings, William Brack, Gerald Brack, and Gloria (Brack) Trumbetas.
She leaves behind 2 sons, Steven (Susan) Hankins and Scott Hankins; 5 grandchildren; Melissa Sannes (Scott), Keleigh Nichols (Noah), Steven Todd Hankins, Eric Hankins (Tacita), and Craig Hankins. And 5 great grandchildren; Sophia Sannes, Hunter Nichols, River Nichols, Wyatt Nichols and Atticus Hankins.
A private celebration of Joyce's life will be held by her family in honor of her memory.
