It was with heavy heart I visited Huntersville. The trip was made so much different from what might have been due to the wonderful glimpses of a younger Judy in the pictures displayed and the beautiful flowers. Meeting members of the family was both an honor and a pleasure.
Judy meant well-run rabbit show to me. She was quiet and friendly - something in her look and smile suggested something other than a no-nonsense attitude seen there at the shows. I am jealous I was not able to know her better. I heard nothing besides praise of her every effort on behalf of the folk that raise and show rabbits.
Soon there will be a show dedicated to her coming up. Who will complete all those metal tags to be put on all the trophies ? Who will print out all those certificates and awards ? Who will not only see everyone welcomed and signed in, but will keep track of all those wins ? No doubt she will be missed - but even if someone does find a way to get all that work done without her there to guide them, it won't be the same. She will be truly missed.
Judy was taken from us too soon.

Well so this is how things go in life isn't it?...I've lost my "spare driver", as Judy called herself. Our adventure into the deepest friendship ever began when I invited her to accompany me as a spare driver to attend an ARBA rabbit convention so that BOTH of us could save some moola. We didn't really know each other that well then, but gosh? save a hunk o money? Deal sealed. With rabbits as a common chatting ground....things expanded...we found we had a lot of common ground that LONG drive...and so it began, one adventure after another, so many chats, so many of everything. She became my rock, my grounding to my ever so flighty self. I needed that and I'm ever grateful for it. I can still be ever so flighty...just a smidgen, right?...but I also catch myself...Good Lord have any of you ever gotten "that look"?, of course you would catch yourself! And now I have sooooooooooooo many memories of adventures...we always called them adventures...how else could you ever contend with a "screw up" on either yours or your best friends'? (truth be told now...mostly mine!, of course most of all of you probably thought that anyway) I have lots of adventures with Judy, my "little woman" as my husband, Bill, and I called her...even to her face! to remember and always smile about! Miss her now and forever. One thing I won't miss? Her feet hitting the floor at 4:30 am for every morning of every adventure! Good night JB, Later, Me

Judy was a awesome lady. Her abiltiy to secretary a rabbit show of any size was a gift. Even though she was a little lady, she leaves a huge void to be filled.
Every year on our way home from the show in Pa we would stop by the Hershey factory just to get white chocolate bars for Judy. She always took her secretary job very seriously but hand her a white chocolate bar and she would just smile so big.
We will miss her dearly.

Sorry to hear about Judy's passing. My prayers to family and friends. She will be greatly missed. What a force she was in the rabbit shows! She could do several jobs at once and did them all well. I also remember the times she gave me words of encouragement when my rabbits were not doing so well in the show. Judy, you rest well in peace.

I enjoyed working with you on the Harlequin website and the publishing of 2 Guidebooks. That was the start of a friendship which, then went beyond the common interest in the Harlequin.

In the years since, we became more and more involved in each others personal lives, through the many upheavals for both of us. I was glad to have some one I could confide in and whom I knew would be there for me plus, I was glad you knew you had someone there for you too, no matter what.

We learned a lot about each others country through the history lessons we gave each other. You liked the pictures and videos of trains I sent you too and I just couldn’t understand why you wouldn’t accept my invitation to come up to the Great White North in January to enjoy the -30 temps with me.

Being that we were close to the same age - you being the older one, I might add - we also held the same views on today's society and how to fix it.

Anyway Judy, it's time to close. I am very thankful that you were my friend. You have always been there for me and I hope I have always been there for you.

So, I guess that’s it for now. I will miss you.

Judy,
it was a pleasure to no you. you are going to be missed by the new and old rabbit people. you taught me a lot about harlies. I will never forget the stories when you and Kitty came up to ny for a rabbit show and how blasted cold it was. RIP Judy.
