Judy Gordon Bartlett's Obituary
Judy Grace Gordon Stevens Bartlett, 72, of Charlotte, went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 6, 2017. Judy retired from the Mecklenburg County Council, Boy Scouts of America on March 30, 2000 after 35 years of service during which she worked as a Graphic Arts Secretary, Accounting Specialist/Office Manager and Fundraising Specialist. She was involved in her church, Independence Hill Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon, Chairman/member of the personnel committee, leader of the Matheny Mission Group, a member of the Wednesday Night Alive Kitchen Crew and the Nominating Committee. She also served at the Angels and Sparrows Soup Kitchen in Huntersville and as Treasurer of The Glen Homeowners Association of Highland Creek.
She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years Robert B. Bartlett; daughter, Inger Hope Stevens-Laws (Scott) and their son Garrett; 4 sisters, Aline Angley (Clyde) of Gastonia, Patricia Helms of Charlotte, Lynda Stack (Kenneth) of Monroe, Carolyn DeVore (Ronnie) of Savannah, GA; one brother, Larry (Nancy) of Harrisburg; and step-son, Kim W. Bartlett. She is also survived by 3 nieces, Gail Norman, Debbie Byars, Libby Gordon; 5 nephews, Michael Gordon, Darin Stack, Bryan Stack, Scott Payne, Andrew Gordon and their spouses and families. Judy was predeceased in death by her parents Oliver Cleveland Gordon and Lula Elizabeth Helms Gordon and two brothers, Clyde and Robert Gordon; niece, Myra Ann Helms Brown, great nephew Luke Byars and brother-in-law, Ken Helms.
Judy has asked memorials be made to the Building Fund at Independence Hill Baptist Church, 10220 Independence Hill Rd. Huntersville, NC 28078 or to the Mecklenburg County Council, Boy Scouts of America Memorial Fund, 1410 E. 7th St. Charlotte, NC 28204.
The funeral service will be held at 3 PM Sunday, July 9 at Independence Hill Baptist Church (Worship Center) with Rev. Todd Marlin officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior at the church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
