Judy Elaine Maples' Obituary
Judy Elaine Maples, 74, passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2020, at Brookdale Concord Parkway Assisted Living. She was born on August 29, 1945, in Charlotte, NC to the late Baxter and MaryBelle Lawing.
Judy was a graduate of West Mecklenburg High School. She then attended Appalachian State University where she received a teaching degree.
Judy was an amazing Elementary school teacher. She loved vacationing at the beach, spending time with family, being active in her church at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, supporting anything her children were doing, cross word puzzles, answering all of the questions on jeopardy, solving every puzzle on Wheel of Fortune and cooking. Her greatest talent was making people feel loved and making them laugh with her quick wit. She had the ability to make anyone smile no matter what.
Judy is survived by her husband Hubert Maples Jr, sons, Peter Griffin (Carmen) of Shelby, NC and Jason Griffin (Kelly) of Mt. Holly, NC; daughter, Lindsay Canupp (Chris) of Locust, NC; and grandchildren, Chase, Eleanor, and Victor.
A funeral service will be 12 PM Wednesday, June 17 at James Funeral Home with a visitation 11 AM- 12 PM prior. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery in Charlotte, NC
