Judy Forbes Doss Stanley's Obituary
Judy Forbes Doss Stanley, 71, Charlotte NC, passed away November 17, 2024.
Judy was born in Waycross, GA on April 15, 1953. She moved to Jacksonville Beach, FL during her teenage years and graduated from Fletcher High School in 1971. She moved to Virginia Beach and worked for GEICO as an auto claims adjuster. On September 25, 1981, she met Tom Stanley, and they were together for 43 years. On May 2, 1987, Judy and Tom were married at Virginia Beach United Methodist Church. In January 1992, Tom’s job moved them to Little Rock, AR, and in December 1993 they moved to Charlotte, NC. While in Charlotte, she worked as a worker comp claims adjuster and started her own online craft business.
She loved her family, friends and pets. She had a positive attitude and a beautiful smile with her gorgeous blue eyes. She was always the life of a party. She loved to travel especially to the beach and to cheer on the Hokies in bowl games. While she loved her home in Charlotte, she really wanted to move back to Virginia Beach to be closer to family and the beach.
She was preceded in death by her father Ron Forbes, mother Shirley Britt Austin, stepfathers Tommy Austin and John Allers, her aunt that raised her in her early years Leila Brooke, and pets Barney, Aja, and Katie.
