Karen Skidmore's Obituary
Karen Marie Skidmore, 78 of Charlotte, NC passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021, after a brief illness. Karen was born on November 8, 1943 to Mr. Frank and Eileen Cermak in Chicago, Illinois. She met and married Gary Skidmore of Jefferson County, Illinois in 1962. Gary and Karen raised 3 sons together in Illinois until 1987. Karen and Gary moved to Charlotte in 1987, where they lived together until Gary’s passing in 2016.
Karen was a very talented seamstress, and did exquisite embroidery and quilting. She spent most of her days working and maintaining her beautiful, well manicured yard. She truly was a diligent, hard working woman with many gifts of talent. She loved her family and was always dedicated to them first.
Karen is survived by her 3 sons, David (Lisa) Skidmore of Blythewood SC. Daniel (Ashley) Skidmore of Plainfield Illinois, and Timothy (Christina) Skidmore of Charlotte. Grand children are Amanda, Matthew, Adam, Evan, Keaton, Ian, Paige, Katelyn, Madison, Tyler, and great-grandson Alleron. Sister, Joan (Dick) Donar of Arizona, sister-in-law Pauletta (Glen) Zellers of Illinois and numerous nieces and nephews.
