Kathleen Cecelia Boyle's Obituary
Kathleen Cecelia Boyle (Umstead) of Cornelius, NC, passed away on Monday January 30, 2023, after celebrating her 71st birthday on January 28. She was surrounded by love, fun and family.
Kathy, as she was referred to by friends and family, also celebrated her 34th wedding anniversary on January 27, with the love of her life, Randy L Boyle.
Born and raised in Williamsport, PA, Kathy spent a few years each in New Jersey, Ohio and Massachusetts finally settling near Lake Norman, NC in 2005. She attended Williamsport Area High School. A proud and hard-working factory worker in her 20s, Kathy went on to earn her cosmetology license and work in her chosen field until leaving the Williamsport area for bigger adventures in 1993.
As well as being a dedicated wife, Kathy was an adored mother fiercely dedicated to her children: Trisha Stahl (Los Angeles, CA) and Jesse Stahl (Linden, PA), her grandchildren: Michael, Aly, Taylor and Hunter, and her dog: Maggie Mae. Kathy shared very special bonds with her sisters: Darla Rothwell (Hernando, FL) and Jeri Wright (Trout Run, PA), as well as her cousins: Cindy Rhine (Muncy, PA) and Teresa Wyland (Williamsport, PA). Kathy was pre-deceased by her loving parents: Gerald K. and Lois P. Umstead (Dangle), her beloved Grammy: Cecelia Dangle, and her great dear Aunt and Uncle, Virginia and James Williamson.
Throughout her life Kathy loved ceramics, household painting/decorating projects, boat rides, laughter, music and DANCING. She was a loyal friend and quick to help a stranger in need.
Services for this beautiful soul will be held post-cremation in the Williamsport area, to be announced by family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to STAR INSTITUTE, https://sensoryhealth.org/ in Kathy’s honor. Kathy was very passionate about helping those with autism lead their happiest lives.
