Jamie Murray
I remember the first time I met Mrs. Reid at her beautiful home on the lake in Huntersville. It was love at first sight for both her and her home. She was a most gracious hostess and she and my Mom hit it off from the bat. Her feisty humor, wit, and charm was mesmerizing as she and my Mom chitter-chattered like a couple of old school girl friends. The stories she told and the wealth of wisdom she and my Mom shared about Charlotte’s history and its demographic changes…not to mention the people whose paths they both have crossed and known over the years…it’s a small world after all. We all left there in one of the worst string of lightning storms Charlotte has seen and laughed lots more over dinner at a BBQ place down a dark and winding 2-lane road. My only regret is that we vowed to do it again but we didn’t get a chance to. I thank her most for making one of my best and dearest friends who is her name sake….Kate. I've had the pleasure of meeting Elizabeth and her husband Gerald on several occasions whom I think are pretty spectacular as well…not to mention their dogs 😊. I’ve heard loving stories and seen pics of all her grands and great-grands and I consider them all my extended family. Our heartfelt love and prayers for His comfort and peace that passes all understanding for each of you now and in the days to come.
