Kathy Lee's Obituary
Kathy Sue Lee, 70, passed away peacefully at home in Huntersville, North Carolina, surrounded by the love of her family.Born and raised in Hawthorne, California, Kathy carried warmth and kindness with her everywhere she went. She worked for many years as a gate agent for US Airways, where she often said the friendships she made became one of the greatest blessings of her career. Later, she followed her creative passion and became a florist for Harris Teeter, where her talent for arranging flowers brought beauty and joy to so many.
Kathy was the beloved wife of 50 years to Bob Lee and a devoted mother to her daughters, Jenna Armstrong and her husband Jason Armstrong, and Krista Hubert and her husband Ben Hubert. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Victoria, James, Caroline, and Everett.
Her greatest joy in retirement was caring for Caroline and Everett, creating memories with them that will last a lifetime. She lovingly taught them how to sew, plant, and cook — the very things that brought her happiness throughout her life. Kathy believed in making everyday moments special and showed her family how to cherish life fully. She had a gift for making people feel welcomed, loved, and valued. Her kindness extended far beyond her family through her volunteer work with Lydia’s Loft and Bags of Hope. Even in the midst of her cancer diagnosis, Kathy faced each day with remarkable strength, unwavering faith, and peace about where she was going. She taught everyone around her the power of acceptance, grace, and love.Kathy found joy in life’s little moments. One of her family’s favorite memories is of her calling Bojangles simply to compliment them on how good the biscuits were that day — a small act that perfectly reflected her thankful and joyful spirit.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 6th, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m at the Arrington clubhouse 11404 Grenfell Ave, Huntersville, N.C. 28078.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Kathy’s honor to Bags of Hope.Kathy’s love, strength, faith, and gentle spirit will continue to live on in the countless lives she touched. She showed us all how to love deeply, live kindly, and make every day count.
