Kay Schmidt's Obituary
Kay Wilson Schmidt, 77, of Orlando, FL and Cornelius, NC, passed away on July 5, 2026. She was born in Chicago, IL, on April 24, 1949, to the late Shirley and Ruth Wilson.
Kay lived a life grounded in warmth, dedication, and deep love. Her compassion and quiet strength shaped every relationship she touched, and her devotion to her family and friends will forever be remembered. She had a beautiful way of putting others first — showing up with a thoughtful message, a comforting text or phone call, a home‑cooked meal, or simply being the dependable support everyone could rely on. Kay’s gentle resilience and unwavering kindness were the foundation of how she lived and the legacy she leaves behind.
Survivors include her husband Lawrence L. Schmidt; daughters Kimberly (the late Sean) Baenen, of Orlando, FL, Laura Goodrich and husband William of Manhattan, IL, and Kristy LaFleur and husband Michael of Orlando, FL; siblings Sheryl Annen and Terry Wilson; grandchildren Stephanie, Jacob, Sabrina, Sean, Rachel, Brandon, Carson, and Alyssa; and great-grandchild Wyatt.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park,
