Kayla Wilson's Obituary
Kayla Marie Wilson, 20, of Huntersville passed away unexpectedly on October 10, 2020. She was born in San Diego, CA on January 13, 2000 to Chad and Amy Wilson. Kayla is survived by her parents as well as her siblings, Sarah, CJ, Wade and Ty; grandparents, Larry and Merlene Schauf, Scott and Diana Wilson, and Janice and Denny Scales.
There are no words to describe how precious and beautiful our dearest Kayla was inside and out. She was the light in every room she entered and brought out the best in everyone she met. She cared deeply for her family and friends, and will never be forgotten.
Kayla lived in San Diego, CA until 2006, but remained a California Girl at heart. Upon moving to Arizona, she discovered her love for softball. She was the most determined, hard-working and focused kid we had ever seen. Her life revolved around her Suncats softball family and they all held a special place in her heart. She attended Immaculate Heart Academy and Salpointe Catholic High School. She always held those friendships dearly even after moving to North Carolina in 2016. While in North Carolina she attended Christ The King Catholic High School, and graduated in 2018. After graduating from Christ the King, she went on to attend Belmont Abbey and continued her softball career. At the time of her passing, Kayla was working towards becoming a physical therapist/physical therapy assistant.
Kayla continued to be a ray of sunshine throughout her life from west coast to east coast and everywhere in between. Everyone who was blessed to meet her was left a better person for knowing her. She was truly loved by many and touched more hearts than we will ever know. Being touched by her love was truly the best feeling in the world. Every time you see a rainbow, know that it is Kayla smiling her rays of sunshine down on you, especially when you need it the most.
Visitation will be held from 1-2 PM at St Mark Catholic Church in Huntersville on Tuesday, October 13th, 2020 with funeral mass to follow at 2 PM. Burial will follow at Northlake Memorial Gardens. Friends and family are invited to gather for a celebration of life at the Kerin Center at St Mark Catholic Church following the burial.
In lieu of sending flowers, a memorial fund Is set in her honor to cover expenses and go to meaningful charities in her name.
