Kelly Coleman's Obituary
Mrs. Kelly Coleman, 51, of Huntersville passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025. She passed at home, peacefully, surrounded by her loved ones.
Kelly was a native of Virginia and spent most of her life in different parts of the state. She was a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University. She was an Environmental Planner and spent her career at Virginia Department of Transportation and various consulting firms. She moved to North Carolina in 2014. She was an active member of Freedom House Church and was a faithful Christian, who fought hard for what she believed in. Kelly homeschooled her three children and was a leader in several area homeschooling groups, including being a founding leader of the Shield of Faith Christian co-op. She touched many homeschoolers’ lives through the classes she taught and by trying to serve as a role model to many.
Kelly is survived by her husband of 30 years, Brad Coleman; their children, Grey Coleman, Reed Coleman, and Zane Coleman, as well as their chosen daughter LeAnna Enriquez. She is survived by one sibling, sister Shona Henderson. She was preceded in death by her father Buster Stroup.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Thursday January 9th at James Funeral Home in Huntersville.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Kelly’s honor to either Teal Divas or Mission Outreach Pakistan. Teal Divas is the group fighting for a cure for gynecological cancers (tealdiva.org). Mission Outreach Pakistan is a missionary group that has been near and dear to Kelly and has supported her more than she supports them. Their info can be found on Facebook or contact the family.
