Kelly Dean Watkins, 63, of Charlotte died December 16, 2019 at CMC Main from complications of surgery. He was born on April 15, 1956 in Charlotte to the late Worth and Dorothy Watkins. His sister Donna Napper also predeceased him. Read Obituary
My first memory of my Uncle Kelly was when he went to Myrtle Beach with my family. I think it was around 1974/75 maybe? We stayed at Apache Campground. Kelly had long hair at that time. Before he went into the military and before he and Sherry married. Even at my young age I found him charismatic, funny and just fun. Whenever we visited Grand-dad and Munor ( what we called grandma on my moms side) I made a point to see Kelly. Actually, just remembered he took me on my first motorcycle ride. Never did it again, lol. Kelly had a talent in humor, music and just a good soul. Unfortunately I haven't seen my mother's family since she passed. I wish I made more of an effort. Now I feel a great loss and sadness that I will not enjoy Uncle Kelly's presence. I feel even more anguish for his wife and my aunt Sherry, their children Shannon and Adam and their extended family and all the lives he touched from his friendship.
We are saddened to hear of this news, and cannot imagine the heartache that your family is experiencing at this time.
It was always a joy to be with Kelly and Sherry, from impromptu meetings at Sports Page or with Adam and the family.
