Kenneth Alexander's Obituary
Kenneth Robert Alexander, 89, of Charlotte died January 6, 2022 at the State Veterans Home in Salisbury. He was born on December 24, 1932 in Mecklenburg County to the late James Edwin and Cora Todd Alexander. Once he graduated from Long Creek High School, he attended Lees McRae for two years before joining the Army. Alexander and Sons Grocery was the family business until he retired. He loved gardening and fishing at Cape Lookout National Seashore.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Phyllis Malcolm Alexander, daughter, Kim Massey and spouse Roger of Charlotte; daughter, Lynn Kane and spouse Tim of Morehead City; and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by siblings Marion Kane, Todd Handschy and Joe Alexander.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, January 10, 3:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church in Charlotte, NC with the interment following. There will be a 1 hour visitation in the family life center prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM.
