So sorry for the family of Ken as I learn of his passing! My name is Jon Paul. I worked for only a couple of years, with Ken at Young's Wrought Iron Works in Rochester circa 1981-82. He was such a kind man who loved to laugh. I, being 20-21 at the time, fresh out of college, thought of him as a mentor. He taught me a lot and I never forgot this! I contacted him only a handful of times after this. I wish I had seen more of him thru the years. I did stop over to North Rd. to visit on my way to Buffalo from Syracuse around 2012. The last time that I saw him, it was a wonderful visit with he and Linda and I was delighted to see that he was still the outstanding man I had known in years past. I shared with him at the time, my plans to become a pastor and happily report now to his family that I did go on to graduate from Northeaster Seminary and have been ordained in the non denominational Christian church. A feat accomplished in my fifties and inspired partially by a desire to be a man like Ken, as well as others. Though our working relationship was brief, it seemed like a long time. I lived in Leroy with my wife during part of that time and Ken and I would carpool to work. Just reflecting on a wintertime story today about driving with Ken and coming around a curve being unable to stop for an accident ahead. I swerved off the road, thru a snow covered lawn, and right back onto a side street. All as though it had been planned that way. Ken just looked at me and said "Damn that was a good move!" I think of him often and am grieved now that I know I can't just pull off the thruway and stop in. But delighted to know that I'll see him again someday. The Lord's peace be with you all!!
