Kevin Michael Baeza's Obituary
Kevin Michael Baeza was born in Brooklyn, NY to Daisy and Charles Baeza. He and his brother Charlie attended Catholic School in NY but while still in elementary school, they moved with his mom and step-father Cirilo Rosado, to Puerto Rico where the family lived and grew until he graduated high school.
While in Puerto Rico he enjoyed the island and its customs, just as much as its beaches and surfing. God blessed the family with two additional sons, David & Steven and Kevin took pride in caring for and loving his two younger brothers and proudly bragged that he had raised them.
Kevin returned with the family to NY in 1988 where he had several different jobs including graduating as an EMS technician. In 2004, when his older brother was transferred to North Carolina, Kevin followed his parents and siblings and also moved to North Carolina to stay close to his brothers and parents. While in NC he held several jobs until he settled at Windstream Communications where he rose through the ranks to Project Leader.
Kevin had a rough-tough outer appearance, but a warm soft heart because though proud and opinionated, he was a respectful son whom always remained close and loyal to his mother. He also loved his grandmother Nanny very much. He and his brother Charlie nick-named her “La Reina” because she was their Queen of the house and because they loved each other so much. In Nanny’s final days, on many occasions Kevin helped his mother care for Nanny.
When his grandfather moved to North Carolina, Kevin and his grandfather Antonio lived in the same apartment complex and they rekindled the love and friendship they shared in Puerto Rico. In Antonio’s later days, Kevin would shave and manicure him out of his love and respect.
Kevin made many friends while in NC and loved to ride motorcycles with Charlie and their mutual biker friends. Together they built many lasting friendships. Kevin and Charlie took up body-building and they took pride in their well-earned appearance.
Due to attending Catholic School and church during his youth, Kevin always had a firm belief in God and what was right and just and wasn’t shy about making his beliefs known to anyone that questioned them.
Then in 2010 God blessed Kevin with a daughter, Chloe Nicole Baeza. His love for Chloe completely changed his life. A whole new side of Kevin appeared and he was a caring, loving and loved father to the very end,
We will all miss him every second of our lives.
