Kevin Sturtevant's Obituary
Mr. Kevin John Sturtevant, 70, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.
Kevin was born in Rome, NY on March 9, 1951, to the late Melinda L. (Manchester) Sturtevant and John C. Sturtevant. He was a communicant of Harvest Baptist Church in Statesville, NC. He spent most of his life in Syracuse, NY where he worked for Millbrook Bakery. When they closed operations, he went on to earn his HVAC certification and began a long career as a service technician with Liverpool Pool and Spa. Upon retirement he moved to Statesville, NC to be closer with family and build on the many passions in his life. Kevin enjoyed fixing cars and riding motorcycles. His love for El Caminos ran deep and he owned many over his lifetime. He was also an avid collector of many things; matchbox cars, guns and tools were some of his favorite items. He enjoyed being outdoors and target shooting.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers Donald Sturtevant and Wayne Sturtevant; sisters Gladys Prairie, Ramona Sturtevant, Dorothy Marks, Janice Sturtevant and Brenda Salmon.
Kevin is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Margaret (Brewer) Sturtevant, brother, Keith Sturtevant (Laurie); sisters, Kaaren Randino and Kathy Lalonde; daughters, Lisa Sturtevant and Tracy Tulowiecki (Tom); grandchildren, Alyssa, Christopher, Josh and many loving nieces and nephews.
The visitation will be held Wednesday, December 22, from 5:30-7:30 PM at James Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 23, 11:00 AM at James Funeral Home with the interment following at Northlake Memorial Gardens in Huntersville.
